This morning we woke up to bright sunshine so we packed up the beach things and headed for St Ives. By the time we had arrived all the car parks close to the beach were full so we headed for the Leisure Centre. We paid £6 to park all day and then another £1 each to get the bus into the town. The buses were running constantly so there was no waiting around.
We decided on Porthminster beach rather than the harbour as it seemed more suitable for children and it was only a 5-10 minute walk from where the bus dropped us off. Although it was busy we easily found a spot bigger enough to accommodate 8 adults and 3 children.
The amenities were perfect with easy access to the toilets as well as a couple of shops, places to eat and drink. The weather was great and really showed off this beautiful place with its white sandy beaches and turquoise waters.
As the day drew to a close and it became cooler we packed up our things and headed into the winding streets of St Ives town. The little shops were perfect and we managed to pick up some holiday treats in Cath Kidston, Poppy Treffry and Whistlefish where I managed to get 10 gorgeous greetings cards for £6.
