Photos of the Week

This week has been my first proper one back at work. Samuel has started with the childminder and we have begun to get into some sort of routine. I am also very excited as my Olympus Pen camera has finally been sent back to me after being away for repair for over a month.

Samuel was actually very good a pulling the blocks out on this giant Jenga game. I just had visions of the whole thing toppling down on him.

What I love about my job is being able to get creative. This was taken on one of our training days at the start of the week. We used natural materials to make a shelter for the dragons among other activities that the children might partake in during their Forest School sessions.

This sleeping pic was sent to me by the childminder on Samuels first day. I was so worried that he wouldn’t settle but I had nothing to worry about. Yes there were tears but they didn’t last and I know that it will get easier for both of us.

We went to our local nature reserve on Thursday with Samuels friend Seth and his Mummy. I love seeing Samuel interacting more with other children. The way they communicate with each other just melts my heart.

The way he looks at his Daddy! Daddy was number 1 on Friday as he went to collect Samuel from the childminders. Daddy also always does bath time. They listen to music and have the best time together. Although Samuel is a Mummy’s boy I can see that one day I’m not going to get a look in and it will be all about spending time with Daddy.

Photos of the Week

I take a lot of photographs and I don’t like to bombard social media with all of them so there are lots of pics that I love but don’t share. That’s one of the reasons why I am really enjoying doing these blog posts.

Here are just a few of my favourite photographs/moments from the last week.

Last Saturday we went to Tattershall Farm Park with my side of the family. It was a lovely day. The sun was shining and I just love seeing how Samuel and his cousin Henry interact with each other. Look at them here holding hands and walking so nicely with Nanna.

Samuel and I went to play at Nanna and Grandads house which of course meant getting in the sandpit. Samuel got wet through and covered in sand so we gave him a bowl bath. He loved it obviously.

Samuel and Henry again. This time they are watching the cars go past and waving to them. Two peas in a pod!

Samuel had the best nap when we went to Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Monday. Thankfully he didn’t miss too many of the animals as he slept during lunch. I don’t get many sleeping photos now as he prefers the room to be dark or he sleeps in the car so I just had to take a pic.

The sand fiend. Seriously he is obsessed. I think I have said that before but it’s true. Give the boy a sandpit and he is happy.

Playing football with Nanna. Of course Nanna is still in her heels. She once walked up the Heights of Abraham in Matlock in her heels.

There we go my weekly round up. See you next week!

Personal Planner

When I started back at work I knew I needed a new diary. Like most people nowadays I use my iPhone calendar which is linked to my husbands but obviously work stuff is of no interest to him. I wanted a physical planner that I could write in and access at work (no phone rule) and there is just something lovely about a new diary.

My friend introduced me to personal-planner.com. A Swedish company which makes unique diaries.

I loved that I could put a picture of my gorgeous baby boy on the front and back cover so when I am at work I can still see his cute face. I loved that you could pick different layouts and banner designs and that you could add extras like the weather, a 'to do list' and 'ideas of the week'. It comes with a ruler/bookmark and a sheet of stickers and you get to choose extra pages such as square/plain/ruled pages, sudoku, colouring and address book.

You can pick the Month you want the planner to start. So you can have it start in October for example. No more waiting until January or September to start a new diary or getting one and wasting pages.

I opted for the week days to be split half plain and half ruled. I have used the rules section a bit like a journal, just writing a few lines about what we have been up to that day.

It was lots of fun to set up and you can even input people's birthdays if you wish and they will be printed on for you. I didn't this time but may do in the future.

If you are after a new diary then definitely check them out!

Filofax

Holiday Week!

Playing catch up with my Filofax this week as it’s just been crazy since we got back off holiday. Just finished decorating my Cornwall page in my Paperchase planner.

I have made use of those little pictures you get when you have your photographs printed online. I decided to cut them out and use them as stickers to add a more personal touch to the weeks page.

Very happy with the results! πŸ˜€
