May 2018

Here is my May round up in pictures. This year is flying by and in 2 months I will have a 2 year old (insert crying face).

My little book worm at the library. They really are an underused resource that we really need to start using more. Plus it’s all free!

My boys! We have had some beautiful weather this month and we have definitely made the most of it. This was a morning at Sherwood Forest just us three. It was lovely.

I love this of Samuel with his Aunty and Uncle (my brother and sister-in-law) it just speaks love!

Samuel is getting so confident now in terms of his physical ability. He has no fear and such perseverance. I hope he always has this never give up attitude.

A picture not featuring Samuel but had to share this. We may not see each other often or chat as much as we could but we are definitely friends for life.

Samuel and Nanna. My mum had just crawled through a child’s play tunnel to sit in this tent with Samuel. It’s there anything Grandparents won’t do for their grandchildren?

That’s it for May. You were lovely and sunny and over far too quickly!

April 2018

I’m a little behind this month but here they are at last, a round up of April in pictures.

Look at their faces! Mouths full of chocolate. The 1st of the month was Easter Sunday and these 3 certainly made the most of it.

Samuel loves his friend Declan. So much so he even knows the way from our house to his house (it’s not far).

We loved Cadbury World and so did these two. I thought Samuel would go crazy for all the chocolate but he only had a tiny little bit. His Daddy on the other hand!

Is there anything cuter than an ice-cream face.

Helping Great Grandad Sam to feed the birds. Samuel loves watching all the birds that come in to my grandparents garden.

Love this family selfie. We enjoyed a week of nice weather in April. It was bliss.

Our friend Ben took this picture of our boy when we were on holiday in Tattershall Lakes. The weather was awful all weekend. It didn’t stop us having a good time though.

That’s my April round up done. I know I say this every time but I honestly cannot believe how quick this year is going.

March 2018

Gosh this year is flying by! How are we in April already?

Here is my March round up in pictures. I find it so hard just choosing a few.

We had a fabulous time in Norfolk for the weekend and Samuel loved spending time with his cousin Henry. Here they are enjoying a bath together.

Another cousin. This time his biggest cousin Max. As you can probably tell Samuel loves him so much. Max is so good with the little ones!

So much family time this month. Both Samuel and Henry love books and it’s lovely seeing them enjoying sharing stories together.

Samuel wants to be on the go all the time and this can sometimes be tricky especially when we are having a meal out. Thankfully on this occasion the restaurant was pretty empty so he got free rain to have a bit of a run around and a dance to the music.

Samuel loves to pose and has recently discovered the selfie mode on my phone. When he wants his picture taken he will come in close and look at the screen. He has also mastered saying cheese and doing a smile when a camera is pointing at him.

We had quite a few sleepless nights and it turned out Samuel had an ear infection. It cause the eardrum to perforate which is how we discovered it. He is getting better at telling us when he is hurt but he couldn’t quite communicate this and we put it down to his back teeth. Lots of Mummy guilt after we found out what the real issue was.

Photos of the Week

Late again but here are my favourite photos/moments of the week. Actually as I am so late they are photos of the fortnight.

Give Samuel a wide open space and he will run around like crazy. He loves to be outside and is definitely at his happiest when he is.

When a trip to Pets at Home is as much fun as a day out. Samuel and Henry loved looking at the animals and fish.

You canโ€™t tell from his face but Samuel loves his friend Evelyn and she adores him.

Autumn walk collecting leaves and feathers. Samuel loved picking things up and bringing them to me.

To Samuel you climb the wrong way up a slide then slide back down on your belly. If it makes him this happy who cares.

I will try and get more regular with my posts again.

Photos of the Week

Very late in posting this week but it’s been super busy. Here are my favourite pictures/moments from last week.

Our boy is walking now. He walks everywhere and with such skill. It seems to have happened so quickly but at the same time it feels like he has always been doing it.

Ha ha this photo! One baby not looking, one having a meltdown, one being her usual angelic self and one pulling a silly face. Not the perfect picture we had in mind but captures the moment beautifully.

On Monday it rained a lot and we got stuck in the car without coats. Samuel didn’t mind he loves being in the drivers seat, making brum noises and pushing all the buttons. He was fascinated by the rain and kept stopping to look out the window.

Samuel settles and falls to sleep on our bed at night then we move him to his own room. On Tuesday night he was just so hyper and had lots of fun bouncing on the bed instead of falling to sleep.

Finally got round to sorting out some of our cruise pics and this was one of them. Two gorgeous boys having the time of their lives. Just love it!

What Samuel eats in a day pt 3

It’s been a while. Being back at work as left me with no time at all. Here is what a gave Samuel to eat today.

Pre breakfast

Samuel woke early today, about 5:30, and had been restless from about 2am so had a lot of breast milk during the night.

Breakfast

Whilst I prepared Samuels weatabix he had some rice crispies. These are great for practicing that pincer grip. He had his weatabix with warm whole milk and some water to drink.

Morning Snack

Samuel had a tiny piece of tea cake and shared a bag of quavers with his cousin.

Lunch

For lunch I gave Samuel a crumpet thin and some cream cheese. He had some apple and grapes for afterwards. He actually only ate a couple of bites of the crumpet and 1 slice of apple. Not sure why. He loves all those things. Samuel can be very hit and miss at lunch time. He had some more water to drink.

Afternoon Snack

Samuel had an Ella’s Kitchen Red One smoothie. He also had a Fruit Shoot Hydro to drink.

Dinner/Tea

Samuel had chicken breast, mashed potato, peas, sweetcorn, mushrooms and low salt gravy. He ate nearly all of it and the chicken had disappeared before I even had chance to take a picture. Again he had more water to drink and a fromage frais for after.

Bedtime

Samuel had some growing up milk before he went to sleep.

Again nothing fancy just an average day.

Photos of the Week

This week has been my first proper one back at work. Samuel has started with the childminder and we have begun to get into some sort of routine. I am also very excited as my Olympus Pen camera has finally been sent back to me after being away for repair for over a month.

Samuel was actually very good a pulling the blocks out on this giant Jenga game. I just had visions of the whole thing toppling down on him.

What I love about my job is being able to get creative. This was taken on one of our training days at the start of the week. We used natural materials to make a shelter for the dragons among other activities that the children might partake in during their Forest School sessions.

This sleeping pic was sent to me by the childminder on Samuels first day. I was so worried that he wouldn’t settle but I had nothing to worry about. Yes there were tears but they didn’t last and I know that it will get easier for both of us.

We went to our local nature reserve on Thursday with Samuels friend Seth and his Mummy. I love seeing Samuel interacting more with other children. The way they communicate with each other just melts my heart.

The way he looks at his Daddy! Daddy was number 1 on Friday as he went to collect Samuel from the childminders. Daddy also always does bath time. They listen to music and have the best time together. Although Samuel is a Mummy’s boy I can see that one day I’m not going to get a look in and it will be all about spending time with Daddy.
