20 facts about me!

A couple of weeks ago I was tagged to do 20 facts about me. I have done these a couple of times before and I wanted to try and think of 20 facts that I hadn’t previously shared. It was very hard! I’m really not that interesting. So here they are if, indeed, you are interested.

  1. My name is Gemma Louise. I think Louise is probably the most common middle name there is.
  2. I’m allergic to yellow gold but thankfully I am more of a fan of white and rose gold anyway.
  3. When I was 4 I cut my arm open on the corner of a radiator and I still have the scar today.
  4. I hate the material valour/velvet. The thought of it even sets me on edge.
  5. I really enjoy car journeys if I’m not driving. I think it’s because you can’t feel guilty about sitting there and doing nothing whereas at home you’re always thinking ‘oh I must put that load of washing in’ or ‘I really need to hoover’.
  6. I am 6 months older than my husband. A fact he likes to remind me of on a regular basis.
  7. I have to have a shower every morning. I just can not leave the house without having one. I just wouldn’t feel clean all day.
  8. I love a good old British holiday. Most of my favourite places are in this country and I can’t wait to visit the same places I went as a child with Samuel.
  9. I have seen a ghost but still don’t believe. I am far too logical.
  10. I love a red lipstick. It’s definitely my go to colour on a night out.
  11. I worked behind a bar during my late teens and I loved it. If I worked during the week you would often see me sat at the end of the bar doing my maths and English A level homework.
  12. I have never broken a bone (touch wood)
  13. Lee and I have been together 13 years.
  14. One of my favourite places in the UK is the city of York. Lee even proposed to me there.
  15. I love a good box set binge.
  16. I hate my feet being cold but also hate wearing socks or slippers at home. Lee moans a lot about me putting them on him to try and warm them up.
  17. I love musicals.
  18. I can crochet but haven’t had much time for it since Samuel was born.
  19. I love a printed photograph. I love having them in frames around our home and putting them in albums.
  20. I have turned into an emotional wreck since having Samuel. It seems like the slightest thing sets me off 😭

Hope I haven’t sent you to sleep with those riveting facts. I tag anyone who wants to join in.

Photos of the Week

This week has been my first proper one back at work. Samuel has started with the childminder and we have begun to get into some sort of routine. I am also very excited as my Olympus Pen camera has finally been sent back to me after being away for repair for over a month.

Samuel was actually very good a pulling the blocks out on this giant Jenga game. I just had visions of the whole thing toppling down on him.

What I love about my job is being able to get creative. This was taken on one of our training days at the start of the week. We used natural materials to make a shelter for the dragons among other activities that the children might partake in during their Forest School sessions.

This sleeping pic was sent to me by the childminder on Samuels first day. I was so worried that he wouldn’t settle but I had nothing to worry about. Yes there were tears but they didn’t last and I know that it will get easier for both of us.

We went to our local nature reserve on Thursday with Samuels friend Seth and his Mummy. I love seeing Samuel interacting more with other children. The way they communicate with each other just melts my heart.

The way he looks at his Daddy! Daddy was number 1 on Friday as he went to collect Samuel from the childminders. Daddy also always does bath time. They listen to music and have the best time together. Although Samuel is a Mummy’s boy I can see that one day I’m not going to get a look in and it will be all about spending time with Daddy.

Photos of the Week

I take a lot of photographs and I don’t like to bombard social media with all of them so there are lots of pics that I love but don’t share. That’s one of the reasons why I am really enjoying doing these blog posts.

Here are just a few of my favourite photographs/moments from the last week.

Last Saturday we went to Tattershall Farm Park with my side of the family. It was a lovely day. The sun was shining and I just love seeing how Samuel and his cousin Henry interact with each other. Look at them here holding hands and walking so nicely with Nanna.

Samuel and I went to play at Nanna and Grandads house which of course meant getting in the sandpit. Samuel got wet through and covered in sand so we gave him a bowl bath. He loved it obviously.

Samuel and Henry again. This time they are watching the cars go past and waving to them. Two peas in a pod!

Samuel had the best nap when we went to Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Monday. Thankfully he didn’t miss too many of the animals as he slept during lunch. I don’t get many sleeping photos now as he prefers the room to be dark or he sleeps in the car so I just had to take a pic.

The sand fiend. Seriously he is obsessed. I think I have said that before but it’s true. Give the boy a sandpit and he is happy.

Playing football with Nanna. Of course Nanna is still in her heels. She once walked up the Heights of Abraham in Matlock in her heels.

There we go my weekly round up. See you next week!

Photos of the week

Here are some of the things we have been up to this week.

Samuels first sink bath. I love this in black and white especially because my Grandparents caravan is like something from the 70’s. Samuel loved it. I’m sure he could have stayed in there all night.

Mr chatterbox at it again telling Evvy a right tale. She clearly has no idea what has got him so animated but she entertains him anyway.

This is me as a toddler. My mum sent it to me as she said she could see a bit of Samuel in it. Lee said it’s because I look like a boy. Umm!!

Cheeky boy! He is obsessed with climbing up slides. He then lays on his tummy and slides back down legs first. He is such a daredevil and I hope he keeps his adventurous side.

When you live somewhere for most of your life you forget what a lovely place it can be. We had a nice walk round the castle grounds and down by the river. I think the sunshine helps make everything seem lovely.

I’m actually really enjoying doing these posts as I love looking through photos.

Photos of the week

A few days later than I originally planned but we have had a busy weekend. Here are some of the things we were up to last week.

Last Saturday Lee was at Pistons in the Park with our Mini club so Samuel and I went to meet him there. There were lots of cars on display as well as some quad bikes, which Samuel got to sit on. He absolutely loved it. His face in this picture just shows how interested he was.

Samuel loves ice-cream and here he is having a taste of my Jammy Dodger flavour gelato. It really was delicious and Samuel thought so too.

The sand fiend is at it again. He just can’t get enough of the stuff. Here he is at Whisby after we had had a play in their new soft play barn.

Samuel in a net swing with 2 of his best friends George and Evelyn. He loves other children especially older ones that he can follow around.

Having fish and chips with Samuels Great Nanna and Grandad. Samuel is eating fishcake here and he loved the mushy peas. We had such a lovely time with my Grandparents.

We are having such a lovely summer together I can’t believe it’s nearly over.

Filofax

Holiday Week!

Playing catch up with my Filofax this week as it’s just been crazy since we got back off holiday. Just finished decorating my Cornwall page in my Paperchase planner.

I have made use of those little pictures you get when you have your photographs printed online. I decided to cut them out and use them as stickers to add a more personal touch to the weeks page.

Very happy with the results! πŸ˜€
